I’m Just Grateful to be Here

We are living through a disaster together
It’s just strange to be living
Constant anxiety
Constant depression
Constant hardship
It’s the air we breathe
It’s strange to be living
I’m just grateful to be here
New York-Splendor and Squaller
The Rich, The Poor
They are right next door
This is where the work needs to be done
I’m just grateful to be here
I came searching for one thing
But this work is not one thing
How can it be?
I’m Just grateful to be here
Me- searching or working?
Life experience, addictions, neurosis
Maybe it helps
But who does it serve?
White Male privilege got me here
I’m just grateful to be here
My girlfriend is Korean American
We went to Seoul last year
It was the best thing I’ve ever done
But that was then
Things are different Now
I’m just grateful to be here
She has the ‘China’ Virus they said
They followed us
They stepped to her
They stepped to her to fight
Maybe I just need to listen
Maybe I just need to be supportive
I’m just grateful to be here
We are living through a disaster together
It’s just strange to be living
Constant anxiety
Constant depression
Constant hardship
It’s the air we breathe
It’s strange to be living
I’m Just grateful to be here
